Wall-E Cake

This is a very special cake I made for a friend on exchange in our lab who was leaving after a great year in our lab. His name is Dexi, and he is a massive Wall-E fan, so it seemed like a fitting tribute to take to his goodbye party.
This was one of my biggest projects, and I wanted to make something really special, but unfortunately even though it took two days to do, I think I could have done a much better job in three days, and rushed to get this done just in time for the party.
The other unfortunate thing is that I'm in the middle of writing my PhD thesis right now, so I don't have much spare time with the deadline for handing in looming, and even when I do, I don't tend to choose spending yet more time typing in front of a screen! So I don't have too much time to describe the recipe, but I will upload some pics that give an idea how it was done. I am very indebted to Jelena who posted this video on how to make a Wall-E cake topper, but obviously, I scaled it up about ten times! Basically, I made two square chocolate cakes and stacked them to make a cube, used marshmallow rice krispie for all the other parts, and covered everything in modelling chocolate. Maybe after my thesis is handed in, I will go back to fully describe all the details, but this is all I've got so far! If, however, you have any burning questions that you just have to know the answer to right away, leave a comment below and I will try to answer it ASAP.
Thanks for looking!
The cake was enjoyed by all, large and small
Dexi and I posing with the cake prior to devouring it!
All that was left of Wall-E by the end of the party!
