Rainbow Muffins!

First attempt at the legendary rainbow muffins! After hearing a lot about rainbow cakes and bakes, and seeing a few pics and videos online, I decided as an experienced muffin-maker, this was surely the next step up in cupcakes! So, after perusing a few videos online, and getting some tips from friends, I went ahead with the sandwich bag method: 

This involves dividing your regular muffin mix into 6 bags, which is convenient to adding the gel food colouring as well as piping the mixes individually:

You can use any old basic muffin recipe here, but avoid dark colours like chocolate, which would make the rainbow colours difficult to see.

Then, snip one corner of each sandwich bag, and very carefully pipe out the mix in one layer in each muffin case. 

Then bake, and decorate with frosting and sprinkles!
